Opening Times Public admittance to Australian Eventing Championships will be allowed from 7.00am onwards. The event will run until the day of competition is over, which is normally around 6.00 pm Saturday and 4.30pm Sunday. On Saturday the event is open until 11.00 pm for the Late Night Entertainment.
Entry Cost Is this event ticketed? No, admittance is free to the public for both days of the event. We do ask that you make a donation at the gate which all goes towards our Event Charity. The entertainment on Saturday night from 6:30pm is a free event.
Do I have to pay for parking? Parking at the event is free.
How do I get there? Wandin Park is located at 305 Victoria Road, Gruyere, Victoria. We recommend bringing your car to the event. For more information on how to get here and different modes of transport please head to our Travel page.
Programmes Souvenir Programmes will be available to buy from our charity partners at the front gate upon entry. Programme can be also purchased from Event Office. The price for an Official Event Souvenir Programme is $5 and this is donated to our Event Charity.
What to wear There is no dress code at the Australian Eventing Championships, but considering that the event runs in rain or shine, please remember to bring a rain coat, boots, hat & sunscreen! The event is spread over a large area, and the terrain is uneven in places so please ensure that you wear suitable footwear. Cocktail Party: If you are attending the cocktail party, there is a strict dress code. This is a Black Tie event.
Is there an ATM on site? Unfortunately not, we suggest you get your cash out before you arrive at the event. However, if you do forget there are close by atm's 3 minute drive away. Some of our traders are able to accept eftpos.
FOOD AND DRINK In the Trade Village there is a variety of take-away food outlets and seating available. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased from our licensed bar in the woolshed, which overlooks the cross country course. Food and drink vendors are open late Saturday night.
Can I bring my own food and drink? You are welcome to bring your own food and drink, there are designated picnic areas around the course and on the hill overlooking the main arena or you may use the tables and chairs provided. Due to liquor licensing, BYO alcohol is not allowed. Please remember to put your rubbish in the bins provided, or take it home with you.
DOGS Can I bring my dog? Dogs are most welcome as long as they are well behaved, on a leash and poo is picked up and disposed of into any of the bins provided. Any owner and their dog found to be causing a nuisance could be asked to leave Wandin Park with no re-entry permitted.
Accomodation Where can I stay during the event? Camping can be booked on Nominate. Toilets and showers are available If camping isn’t your style, please take a look our Accommodation page for more information on local area.
Disabled Is the event wheelchair accessible? Due to uneven and in parts steep terrain of the Event site, it may be at times difficult for disabled spectators to move around freely and easily. As a result of this, travel to certain areas of the Event site may not be suitable for those who suffer from impaired mobility or for those who have certain medical conditions.
Do you have a disabled car park? We do have a limited number of disabled parking spaces (New for 2019), though you cannot book any carparks in advance. Upon arrival at the event, please follow signs to the Car Park 1.
I have a broken leg, can I park in the disabled car park? Spectators who have broken bones and other walking impairments are welcome to the Disabled car park upon arrival and explain their situation. Unfortunately, due to the large numbers we cannot guarantee spots available.
Will you have disabled toilets? Yes, disabled toilets are available. We have 4 in total, 2 near the Main Arena, 1 in the sponsors Marquee and 1 in the main shower/toilet block at the end of the Trade Village. If you have trouble locating these please see us at the Event Office and we will be able to direct you.
Lost Property I lost something at the event – what do I do? If you notice that you have lost something whilst you are at the event, please go to the Event Office and report your lost item to a member of our team. If anything of a similar description gets handed in we will get in touch with you either during or after the event. If you realise that you are missing something after the event, please use our contact form or contact us on Facebook to report your loss and to see whether it has been handed in.
Will you post out Lost Property? We can post out any lost property that has been found after the clean up of the event. We use Australia Post to ship lost items back to their owners. This is done at the owners expense.
I found something that isn’t mine – what do I do? If you come across an item which doesn’t belong to you or anyone around you, please take it to the Event Office. The team will make their best effort to reunite it with the owner.
Lost People If you find yourself lost or someone you know is lost please go to the Event Office, or if you cant find that please speak to any of our volunteers who carry a radio who can radio in for help.
First Aid First aid is available both days of the event from the start to end of the competition. This is not only for competitors to utilise but for the general public as well. First aid will be located at Main Arena and on the Cross Country course near the trade village. Alternatively you can head to the Event Office where our staff will be able to guide you in the right direction.

The yards are full, how do I get on the waiting list? There is an option when you enter to be placed on the waitlist. If you entered without selecting that you want to be put on a waitlist please email firstname.lastname@example.org and they will be able to help you.

When will the draw/yard list be available? Draw will be available on Monday 18th, 2019 Yard list will be available on Thursday 21st, 2019
What is the earliest I can arrive for the event? Victorian Riders: Friday. Staff are there from 8am if you need direction. Interstate Riders: Are able to come up to a week in advance at no cost. Sand arena with show jumps available for use. A seperate cross country course is able to be hired at $25 per horse. Toilets and showers available.

What are the rough equivalents for the Unofficial class? Unofficial 65cm = PCAV Grade 4, HRCAV Level 4, EvA65 Unofficial 80cm = PCAV Grade 3, HRCAV Level 3, EvA80 Unofficial 95cm = PCAV Grade 2, HRCAV Level 2, EvA95
Do I need to be a member of an organisation/association to ride in an Unofficial class? You don't need to be be. However, we DO NOT offer any any type of day membership or Public Liability / Personal Accident insurance options. We strongly recommend getting some before competing.
Can I use my generator? Yes but they can only be used between 7am and 10pm,
Can I bring my pets? Yes, you can bring your dog, cat, bird, sheep etc as long as it remains in control at all times and on a leash.
Will a Farrier or Vet be there? Yes a Farrier and Vet will be onsite both days during competition.
